Yunnan Baiyao (16 Capsules + 1 Emergency Red Pill)

Yunnan Baiyao is one of the most respected herbal medicines in Traditional Chinese Medicine, often used in both human and veterinary settings for its remarkable ability to help stop bleeding and promote healing. For dogs, it’s most commonly used in cases of internal bleeding, trauma, or cancers such as hemangiosarcoma, helping many pet parents extend quality of life naturally and safely.

Product Description

Yunnan Baiyao is a prized Chinese herbal formula traditionally used to stop bleeding, both internally and externally. It’s widely used for dogs and cats with bleeding tumors (including hemangiosarcoma and nasal cancers), for injuries, surgery recovery, or any situation involving internal or external bleeding.

This formula is believed to work by stimulating platelet activity—the small blood components that form clots to stop hemorrhage. It may also reduce inflammation, ease pain, tonify the blood, and promote healing. In addition to internal use, Yunnan Baiyao can be applied topically to wounds, tumors, or bites to help stop bleeding and speed recovery.

Each box contains 16 capsules (250 mg each) and one “emergency red pill,” which is traditionally reserved for acute or severe bleeding events.

Ingredients

The exact formula is a protected national secret in China, but early labels listed the following traditional herbs:
• Radix Notoginseng (田七) – 200 mg
• Ajuga Forrestii Diels (散瘀草) – 85 mg
• Rhizoma Dioscoreae (淮山药) – 66.5 mg
• Rhizoma Dioscoreae Nipponicae (穿山龙) – 57.5 mg
• Herba Geranii & Herba Erodii (老鹤草) – 36 mg
• Dioscoreae Parviflora Ting (苦良姜) – 30 mg
• Herba Inulae Cappae (白牛胆) – 25 mg

How to Use / Dosage

General guidelines for dogs:
• Under 10 lbs: 1 capsule once daily
• 10–30 lbs: 1 capsule twice daily
• 30–60 lbs: 2 capsules twice daily
• About 60 lbs or more: 2 capsules three times daily

Each capsule is 250 mg (.25 g).
The red “emergency” pill is located under the center foil of the package and is used only during an active or life-threatening bleeding episode.

Because every dog and every case is unique, always work with a trusted holistic or integrative veterinarian to determine the best dosage and duration. Many practitioners recommend using Yunnan Baiyao in cycles (e.g., 5 days on and 5 days off) or on alternating days, to avoid potential liver strain.

For long-term support, it’s often paired with Milk Thistle to help protect and strengthen the liver.

If given at too high of a dose, mild side effects such as diarrhea, frequent urination, thirst, or dry/cracked paw pads or nose may occur. In rare cases, allergic reactions are possible. Discontinue use if adverse symptoms appear and consult your veterinarian. Not intended for ongoing daily use without veterinary guidance. Not for human consumption. Results may vary.
